First and Second Class have been working on forces and investigating the effect of forces and friction on objects.
Today we did an experiment to see which material would let some cars travel furthest. The materials we tried were cardboard, wood, carpet and bubblewrap. Before we began, we predicted that the car would travel furthest on wood or cardboard. Then we tried the car on wood, cardboard, carpet and bubblewrap and we measured the distance the car travelled each time. Our results differed between groups, but most groups found that their car travelled furthest on wood!
We had lots of fun and wanted to try other materials!
We’ll have to try these another day!
