As part of Galway Science Week, 3rd – 6th Class went on a trip to St. Brigit’s Garden. Even though it was a bitterly cold day – everyone thoroughly enjoyed their activity filled day there! Check out the photos below.

Hockey in Dangan with Sandra is still taking place every Friday after school. St. Nicholas’ Team played Knocknacarra last Friday! Well done everybody for the great team spirit and all the goals that were scored!!  

There was great excitement in school today as everybody got to visit The Dome that was set up in our hall. Once inside The Dome, the images on display were amazing! We got to see the planets, some constellations AND a movie that was shown on the ceiling - 360°...

First and Second Class have been working on forces and investigating the effect of forces and friction on objects. Today we did an experiment to see which material would let some cars travel furthest. The materials we tried were cardboard, wood, carpet and bubblewrap....

Rehearsals for our Carol Service on December 7th at 7pm in St. Nicholas’ Church are in full swing! It promises to be a very festive and enjoyable service again this year. Check back later for more photos!

We are looking forward to the K’nex roadshow that will be visiting our school next Monday morning. K’nex education provides manipulatives, ideas and lessons that promote student engagement in maths, science and technology. Photos to follow!

This week in English, First and Second Class are working on procedural writing. In our first activity we had to read the instructions of a recipe and follow each step carefully. After following the directions very carefully, the result was......a banana milkshake!...
