Today our Green Schools commitee met to begin working on our sixth green flag – Global Citizenship and Litter and Waste. More details to follow.

As part of Maths Week, 3rd – 6th Class will be taking a trip to Galway Atlantaquaria for ‘Explorers Maths Workshops’ on October 19th. Further details on this event to follow.

- Aboard the swimming bus this afternoon! Swimming in Leisureland started back today! It's wonderful to see so many eager swimmers back again this year! Well done everyone!

Junior and Senior Infants have been learning all about homes and houses this month. We had lots of fun making our own houses out of craft sticks!

Chinese class started back today after the summer holidays. Cathy teaches in our school on Tuesdays from 2.30 – 3.15. Lots of songs, rhymes, poems and counting to be heard from the Chinese class today – well done everyone!  

Drama for all classes began today - lots of fun was had by all! Drama will continue for all classes on Tuesdays. Keep an eye out for more photos as the weeks go by!  

First and Second Class took advantage of the beautiful sunny morning in Woodquay and went on a nature hunt to Woodquay Park. Lots of interesting leaves, feathers, trees and berries were amongst the things that were identified and magnified! Aren’t we lucky to have...

It is always such a joy to have our past pupils come to visit! You are always very welcome back to your old school – we love to see how well you are all getting on!!

There was great excitement in school today when one of our students received the news that he has been selected to be a flag bearer at the GAA Football All Ireland Final in Croke Park on Sunday! Maigh Eo Abú!!!!  

To celebrate Roald’s birthday the Senior Classes went to Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop for some fantastic storytelling and activities with Mary. The morning was greatly enjoyed by all!! First and Second Class celebrated by making one of Roald Dahl’s recipes....The Fizzy...

Using clay, we made ring forts, hill forts, crannogs, swords and rotary quern-stones. This is linking in with our history lessons about The Celts.  

To celebrate the birthday of the famous author Roald Dahl - 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Class will visit Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop where they will be treated to some great storytelling by the wonderful Mary who works there! - Really looking forward to our trip! Check back...
