We were delighted to have Susan O’ Donohoe back in St. Nicholas’ again today with 3rd and 4th Class. She brought in some moths and flies and allowed us to look at them closely with a hand lens. We had a table quiz about invertebrates. We also discussed biodiversity and public awareness. We went to the school playground to check our habitats for invertebrates. We found 18 woodlice, 2 snails, 4 worms, 1 fly and 1 spider. In the afternoon, we went to our local park to look for more invertebrates. We used an umbrella to do some tree beatings too. We would like to say a big thank you to Susan for helping us with our project. We had a great day!
