In celebration of Maths Week 2018, Galway Atlantaquaria are hosting a series of workshops for primary school children, focusing on marine maths. The children will explore how the aquarium uses measurements and spatial awareness when designing its exhibits and displays; students will carry out a range of measuring and surveying tasks during a tour of the aquarium. Next, students will get the opportunity to take part in our Exploring Fisheries Challenge in our classroom. This exercise challenges students to sort their catch, discuss the issue of marine litter plus calculate their profits or losses from their fishing trip.
All classes from St. Nicholas’ will be participating in this amazing workshop on October 15th.
