First and Second Class were learning all about Brazil in geography this week. Before we began exploring the country though, we used the KWL strategy. We recorded everything we knew already. We discussed what we would like to know and soon we will be recording everything we have learned! Some children brought in footballs and teddies because the FIFA World Cup was played there in 2014!
While we were exploring the country we learned that Brazil is famous for its carnivals. We saw many amazing pictures of carnival masks and costumes and we listened to some Brazilian music. This then inspired us to create and design our own carnival masks! We haven’t quite finished them yet – but this is how they look so far!
